Meeting 4th December

On a cold December evening, we enjoyed the warm atmosphere of the meeting
in the library with lots of frivolity as per usual. Our chair SR amused us with some
quips and quotations from the book ‘Advanced Banter’ by John Lloyd and John Mitchinson’

Introductions were to the question: ‘Tell us about your Christmas plans’.

Ah Counter – DM, Timer – CLW
Wordmaster – SR2 with the word ‘substitute’

For our inspiration SC recalled as a young lad listening to the album
‘Dark Side of the Moon’ by Pink Floyd.

The prepared speeches were as follows:
Speaker 1 – CAW – ‘The origin of Nursery Rhymes’ evaluated by LG (PowerPoint pres.)
Speaker 2 – TH – ‘Tis the season to…’ evaluated by CB

Our Two Minute Topics master SR2 used the theme of ‘business travelling by road’
as a theme. The chosen topics included:

Dodgy B&Bs
Very slow driving
Breakdown or puncture
Roadworks
Motorway services
Scenic routes
White van man
Sat Nav error
Motorway, A road or country road?
Hotels

This was much enjoyed by all!

There was no Best Speech award as there were
only two speeches
