On a cool and wet evening our new President & Toastmaster SR used ‘eponyms’ as the theme for the evening – exhibiting various examples including a Wellington boot, a Trilby hat, a Stanley knife and an Allen key.
Introductions were to the question ‘What would you like your name to be associated with?
‘Eloquent’ was the word chosen by our Grammarian GB
For the invocation TH read from a short poem called ‘Points of View’
by Ishmael Reed concerning the opinion of bears…
The prepared speeches were as follows:
‘Lessons Will be Earned’ by PR
‘Hot Spots’ by CLW
‘The Story of My Life’ by JR
Our Table Topics Master AP used a theme of a Disney fairytale wedding
posing such questions as:
What venue in England would you choose?
What would you choose for the Bride and Bridegroom to wear?
How would you dress the Best Man?
How would you cater for breakfast?
How would you design a Disney cake?
What would you buy as presents?
