Meeting 1st October

It was good to see so many new faces at last night’s meeting and we hope to see them again soon.  Our Toastmaster PR provided a fun filled evening treating us to a verbal extravaganza of language with bizarre examples of people’s names.

Introductions were to the question: What annoys you about the use of language?

The inspiring Invocation by EH was about the ‘marvellous’ Neil Baldwin

Our Grammarian DB chose the word ‘robust’

Prepared speeches were by DB, GB & AB
The Best Speech award went to AB for his speech entitled: ‘E.S.P’
(Extra Special Panda)

Our Table Topics Master SR asked members to construct stories from
the first lines of Nursery Rhymes such as:

Jack and Jill went up the hill…
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall…
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe…
Simple Simon met a pieman going to the fair…
Mary had a little lamb…

Best Evaluator award went to TH for her evaluation of speech 3
Best Table Topic award went to JO – well done that woman!
