Our Toastmaster CAW brightened up an otherwise dull and windy evening by bringing in some flowers and having a floral theme for the evening. Introductions were based on members memories of particular flowers.
It was good to see our two new members KW & PB in fine vocal form.
The Invocation by GB was a reading of ‘Anthem for Doomed Youth’ by Wilfred Owen
‘Prudence’ was the chosen word from the Grammarian DM
Prepared speeches were by KB, DL, & SR
The Best Speech award went to SR for his speech entitled: ‘Punting in Norfolk’
Table topics Master CLW posed some topical questions including:
What would happen if England drew to play Germany in the World Cup?
How would you manage a puncture on the way to work or TM?
How do you cope with income tax?
The HMS Queen Elizabeth – is this a waste of money?
Should the A47 be dualled?
Should dangerous dogs be measured on size alone?
Best Table Topic award went to GB
Best Evaluator award went to TH (Table Topics evaluation)
